Seat has announced a new limited edition Ibiza with revised, sportier styling.

In addition to its Black Magic paintwork, the Seat Ibiza Black is marked out by new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and a roof spoiler.

That sounds like a rather small number to justify the tooling for new bumpers and spoiler?

It's not new. It's been on seats website optional extras for ages.

 I'm glad to see SEAT are doing the important technical stuff, like bunging a decent engine in to the Ibiza.  It doesn't even need to be a stoning 200bhp lump, just something that can crack 60 in less than ten seconds!

Just been looking on the SEAT website, and the 1.9 TDI 105 engine is appearing in the engines list now. And the figures don't look good. 124 g/km of CO2 - the Fiesta has more power and emits 110 g/km of CO2 - obviously meaning £35 tax. If SEAT can only offer this diesel in the Ibiza range (apart from the Ecomotive - which is expensive), then I don't know what they're doing introducing special editions already - yes, this looks nice, but I really think they should be concentrating on getting more diesels in the Ibiza. It's a good-looking car, and I've seen quite a few three-door models around (they're a nice change from the hundreds of Fiestas already on the roads) - but it needs some decent diesels if it really wants to compete.

A special edition already? I'm really disappointed with the new Ibiza. I've always had a soft spot for the last 2. But to me, the new one looks odd at the front, and generally lacks a look of solidarity. Interior has no style.

I've long liked Seat but please VW, give them the engines they need/deserve. You're turning Seat into a bit of a joke.

 That dashboard! Did they just not bother designing one?
