Renault’s Renaultsport division has reached the final few months of development of its super-hot version of the new Renault Megane.

The new Renaultsport Megane will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show on 3 March. UK sales have been brought forward and the new car will be available by late summer, or even slightly earlier.

The new Renaultsport Megane is expected to be seen as a direct rival for the forthcoming more extreme versions of the new Volkswagen Scirocco.

for Vicky Parrott.....how fitting that having just accused you of wrongly comparing the new (and very pretty) Laguna Coupe to the VW Scirocco, when clearly the Megane Coupe would be its natural competitor, Renault should release this. For what its worth, I drove the Laguna Coupe and until anyone has, I would say reserve judgement, it really is a very competent car and stylish good value. If you want to burn rubber - not something the average Laguna Coupe owner would really want to do, neither would the average 318, 320d Coupe owner or for that matter an Audi A5 1.8TFSI owner, then perhaps this is closer to being your kind of car. I'm sure the press will give it a hard time and the Focus RS will reign supreme in their eyes, but once again well done Renault...it looks amazing and I want one !!   Press, please stop knocking Manufacturers who try so hard to provide us all with such comprehensive choices..

This megane looks amazing hopefully the hot hatch version of the new megane will have design cues like this and the tuning packages sounds awfully similar to what abarth are doing to the 500 and the Grande Punto.

 Hopefully they will be racing in those colours and atleast if there was a collision wiv one of them the other drive cannot say I didn't see him/her coming
