This is the first official teaser shot of the Subaru Legacy concept car, which is due to be unveiled at the Detroit motor show in January.

Subaru is promising more aggressive styling, a distinctive front grille and flared wheel arches along with a more comfortable, higher-quality cabin.

The concept will be powered by the familiar 3.6-litre boxer engine from the Subaru Tribeca and has four-wheel drive. When the new Legacy makes production, we should expect the more efficient diesel...Read the full article

Even just from the shot shown, it looks better than the already dated Impreza.

Let's hope Subaru don't drop the ball on this one and build on the very good current model.

    It's all about the twisties....

Since the facelifted Tribeca came out. Very nice engine, and the Tribeca I swapped for my Forester for a month was a very nice car to drive.

The engine has more tourque than the 3.0R and doesn't need as many revs to get moving. power is also up 10 kw (it is too early in the morning for me to work out bhp). Anyway im not 100% sure about the look of the new Legacy, it look like there is a hint of R Class in the front end. But I shall save full judgement until I see the car in the metal.

Alex - The Impreza has gone. Long live the Fiesta!

Thank you - I had obviously missed that. The facelift was definitely needed, perhaps I was so bowled over by the decrease in ugliness I missed the engine change

Just had a look at the Subaru UK website and they are still selling the pre-facelift Tribeca. Why oh why! Ugly car with an engine that struggles with the mass!

All details about the (current) 3.6 litre engine can be found here:

And it sounds almost like a 911 trust me!
