The truth hurts? I've a new 911 Turbo [Gen II] on order - Do'h! Doesn't arrive until Feb 2010!!!! What do I drive in between? New Cayman S? No, an E220 W124!! As you have on test !:0 Had a track day on the 5th last week and drove a friends Manual Cayman S [Gen I] then a 911 S Gen II with PDK. The latter was seriously quick and excellent to handle and trow around, keeping many well driven Elise S2's out of my rear mirrors. The former was a gem too, but engine note and lack of diff made it hairy at times, but you accustom yourself to its limitations. My issue it, now I sold my 2005 996 4S [that was upgraded to 375bhp] and am having to wait for 13 months for my new venture into Porsche Turbo Heaven! ...or Disappointment? I've have to wait to discover if the power and joy cocktail provided by the new engine mods steer clear of you statement: "The Porsche Cayman [Gen II] is the best car in the World". Good report though mon ami. PLEASE Let me know if you hear of what developed mods the 997 Turbo II 'will' have on it?

Yeah, best car in the word. Better than a Ferrari 430 Scuderia, a Lamborghini Gallardo 560, a Porsche GT3 RS and a Pagani Zonda... Get real man!

I do love it when the hack's proclaim a car to be the "Best Car in the World" or "Real World". Not sure what the difference there is! Do they live in some parallel universe where super unleaded rains from the sky and our roads are all but free of artics and fleet cars monotonously following their TomToms.

Only a couple of years ago the 320d was the best car in the real world. Now the Cayman S, best car in the world. 

I'll stick with later, I dread to think of the day where anything with 4 doors and childlocks can be seriously called "Best Car of any World".

In my hypothetical world money is redundant and only a few things matter:
1. Performance/Handle/Ride
2. Styling and Build Quality
3. Residuals

GT3 or Cayman S it is for me!
