Ford is expected to drop the first hints towards its new global design language at the Detroit motor show in January.

The struggling Detroit giant plans to bring a global design ethos to the brand, which will replace the ‘kinetic’ styling we currently have in Europe.

Ford’s Detroit concept car – expected to be a replacement for the US-only Taurus – is being kept closely under wraps. But the Blue Oval’s global design chief J Mays admitted: "while it’s not the next-generation design...Read the full article

I think it looks great, apart from the huge grille.  It looks like the obvious step forward from the kinetic design, which I also think looks great. It'll be exciting to see how it turns out in a few years.

I have seen some design proposals for the replacement for the Mondeo and they definitely seem to move the kinetic theme on.

Personally I think the current design language is a little to heavy handed and fussy.

    It's all about the twisties....

I dont like where ford is taking car design - horrible proportions.

just look at the distance between the top of the rear wheel and the back of the side window. It seems to get bigger with each design

Design DNA, Design Language, Kinetic Design, Design Ethos, next-generation design blah blah blah...... What would Henry Ford think of this? Ford. Please drop the bull ***t jargon and just make good looking cars that people want to buy. And please talk to Gordon Murray before you cast the oily bits and stamp the flat bits.

It's a nice style... they should stick with this one. Looks much better than the current Ford line up, although the Focus ST does look very good...

Ford isn't the only guilty party, but I'm not too sure about the trend of ever stretching and more complex lights, which in this case seem almost integral with the windscreen.  With the current rates of depreciation It won't be long before cars are insurance write-offs as they need new lights.
