  • Revisions for Lexus IS

    Nov 15, 2008 9:17 PM

Lexus has announced a package of revisions for the IS saloon, with revised styling, improved safety features and a price drop of up to £1000.

The 2009 Lexus IS will get a restyled front bumper and radiator grille, plus subtle changes to the rear lights. A new SE-I trim level is also being introduced, between the entry-level SE and the range-topping SE-L.

Well priced and very competitive car in this sector

Anyone have any thoughts on Lexus increasing their presence with these updates?

Unfortunately, BMW and Mercedes seem to have a strangle hold on this sector of the market.  The IS has always been the thinking mans three series, and these revisions don't do a lot to change that.

However, the thinking men aren't buying cars at the moment, so it is doubtful that any revisions to the car will make any difference to its presence in the market place.  Shame really as it is a fundamentally good car, one which a lot of BMW and Merc drivers would probably appreciate if they could get out of the sheep like mind set.
