    Nov 10, 2008 10:01 AM

Ferrari has taken the wraps off the new Scuderia Spider 16M, basically a roadster version of the 430 Scuderia, featuring most of the same chassis upgrades that have won the coupe such acclaim.

The company claims that the Spider 16M is quicker around its Fiorano testing circuit than any other open-topped Ferrari road car, although the exact margin between it and the 430 Scuderia hasn’t been revealed. 499 examples of the 16M will be built for all global markets, with an unspecified number c...Read the full article

Thank God they didn't win the drivers' championship - or this thing would be called the Scuderia Spider Felippe Massa!

    Special edition Ferrari style.

Wonder if it will be like the more main stream manufacturers specials when it comes to resale time......

"Oh.... take the base model and add fifty quid!"

    Well, I can wish!

    It's all about the twisties....

Ferrari has never released a special version paying tribute to one of its drivers, as they rightly believe that the Constructors' Championship is the most important. Hell, not even Schuey that won 5 titles driving a Ferrari, got a special edition model named after him.

  • JBL in a Ferrari?

    Nov 10, 2008 11:48 PM

Next thing they'll be fitting TSW 'Stealths' as the OEM wheels!

Pity Ferrari have gone with JBL for the sound system - what with so many exotic Hifi manufacturers in Italy. I'm sure they could have found a more appropriate match for the Ferrari brand...They have links with Meridian, who could easily have produced something a little more exotic.

Even if they were to keep the system within the Harmann family (I presume they still fit Becker) they could have chosen Lexicon or Mark Levinson. I'd wager that very very few Ferrari owners would buy any hifi product made by JBL, choosing more esoteric brands instead. You can buy JBL in Halfords!, and Jbl's home hifi equipment is all about power, and little to do with finesse.

Aston Martin used to sell their cars with Linn Hifi, but opted to change to B&O...Where's the sense in that! Does that mean that Aston Martin are now all about style over performance?

I still can't fathom why a Ferrari owner would care about the soundsystem given that the car has a £50,000 soundsystem that doubles as an engine also!!!

Did you see the JBL Logo? The silver one with the profesional on it? I suggest they have chosen the pro group to spend only the very good stuff for the best italian car. I have seen JBL pro only at recording studios and with top performers.
