    What is it?

Mazda’s entry into the hard-fought market for three-door superminis. The three-door version of the Mazda 2 shares its five-door sister’s dimensions, but gets smaller rear windows and a revised glasshouse to make it appear sleeker and leaner.

It’s still a lightweight, tipping the scales at 970kg, and as a result it remains impressively lithe and enthusiastic to drive.

The three-door keeps the five-door’s range of engines, meaning the same 1.3 or 1.5-litr...Read the full article

The performance of this car is ludicrously poor. 15.5 seconds to 60 is pathetic, the Colt 1.5DiD is similarly light and with its Mercedes-Benz 1.5 litre triple does it in 10.4

    Autocar:
A 15.5 second stroll to 62mph means that overtaking on faster roads, or accelerating to join a motorway takes some forethought.

    Hi Will,

Can you explain to us readers how the 0-62mph "stroll" relates to an overtaking manoeuvre, or accelerating to join a motorway?

Actually, don't bother...30-50mph, 50-70mph, 70-90mph (etc.) acceleration times (which relate to overtaking or acceleration from 30mph and above) have got bugger all to to with the nonsensical 0-60/0-62mph times.

Gearing and torque are what matter.

Are you really a motoring journalist?

0-62 is still a good indicator of actual power to weight ratio, and a car that takes 15.5 seconds to do it is a slug whatever way you look at it
