  • Brits plan 1050mph attempt

    Oct 23, 2008 12:11 PM

The British team responsible for breaking the sound barrier on land and redefining the land speed record will attempt to break their own record with a jet car capable of reaching 1050mph in 40 seconds.

Andy Green and Richard Noble launched the Bloodhound Project today at London’s Science Museum, with the aim of breaking the 763mph record set by Green in Thrust SSC in 1997. The attempt is due to take place in 2011.

They should come to Lockfield Drive in Woking. People regularly exceed this speed on a nightly basis.

All the engineers need to do is get Thrust SSC and wack some neons underneath and some irritating blue LED's on the windscreen wiper jets.

Haha...love the suggestion in regards to the neons and the stereo...!

Would love to see this tearing across the salt plains...however as impressive as it is...not really resembling the type of car which im more accustomed to!
