A driving test impersonator has been given an eight-month jail sentence for “conspiracy to obtain property by deception”.

Joseph Nazaire Djoukam of south-east London appeared before Croydon Crown Court yesterday, where he was found guilty of illegally sitting in driving tests for unwilling or unfit “candidates”.

Anyone that has driven around SE London will not be remotely surprised to learn that this goes on around there. The standard of driving is feeble, like the rest of London. I love the place, and I love living there, but it is spectacular sometimes how dangerous the South Circular can be.

This is a classic problem where the UK ID would be the perfect solution for.

No it would not. Biometric ID can be forged now thus removing the effectiveness of the ID card.
