  • Spied: Range Rover facelift

    Sep 19, 2008 1:07 AM

Our spy photographers have grabbed these shots of a slightly facelifted version of the Range Rover.

Following on from the Discovery’s recent mild makoever, Land Rover is giving the Rangie a similar visual going over, with the mild disguise suggesting new headlamps, radiator grille and front bumper – with the arrival of LED tail lights at the rear. Externally, the rest of the car remains unchanged.

Who cares ? In my view, the sooner cars like this are off the roads the better. It is unneccessarily over-large, over-weight and over-greedy in fuel and resources to make and run. LandRover would be better off spending their money on bringing forward a lighter and smaller Range Rover, setting an example to all the other makers of these ghastly 4x4s and hopefully starting to make people see how pointless they are when used inappropriately in urban and soft-rural areas, maybe 80% of this country; I've no objection to 4x4s where needed but I guess that the vast majority of Range Rovers never get out of their urban home areas.

I care! The Range Rover is the most advanced and most capable luxury vehicle with its breadth of ability even after 6 years in production, it is a well known fact that IT along with many other NON-Land Rover branded SUV's use much less resource to produce than an electric hybrid of some sort and at the end of the life up to 90% of the material can be recycled. (Now say the same for all those leaky batteries we are gonna end up with if Prius's become the norm!) Right now enough of this socially acceptable rubbish, the Range Rover is a milestone and classleader that people people aspire to, I don't know of anyone who would think that of a Prius! Suggest comments deriding proper vehicles find a website like Greenpeace to blog on NOT Autocar!

I don't think I've read so much sh*t in all my life. You, sir, are talking rubbish. You don't like them ? Fair enough but who the hell are you to say that someone else's choice of car should be removed from the road when they have zero effect on you. Life and let live.
