Lexus will launch an IS 250 convertible in the UK next summer, and the car will be revealed at the Paris Show next month.
Badged IS 250 C, the fresh-air IS will use the same 2.5-litre V6 as its saloon stablemate and will feature a folding-metal roof, like the original LF-C concept (pictured) and the Lexus SC.

Hey, shouldn't "More pictures" mean just that, that is, of the convertible - we all know what the saloon looks like!

Does anyone else get this incredible drowsiness wash over them whenever they see the word 'Lexus' on a page?

Hey why not, ideal candidate as the IS is virtually useless due to a boot the size of an ashtray they might as well stuff the roof into it and be done with it.

Lexus ownership has always been more about the coats of wax than the drive so the typical poser customers will be strangling each other with their chamois to get one. Joy.

I have an IS 250.  I must disagree with you about the tiny boot.  To my mind it is huge.  I can get golf clubs (I am a Lexus owner after all), kids bikes and tons of other stuff in it.  Not all at the same time of course.  I'm not sure what you are comparing the Lexus's boot with but the autocar test of the lexus vs. C class and 3 series revealed the Lexus as having at least a good a boot as the others.

I would agree that it's a dull car but I love all the tech stuff, including a Mark Levinson audio system that plays my DVD Audio collection.  For me the car is just a nice environment to spend a couple of hours a day and it's 100% reliable.  No street cred of course but I can live with that.

Well you are easily pleased with your 378 terribly shaped litres, the BMW has 460 and the Merc 475 all much better shaped. The point being I am jealous, I wanted one as my company car but I need that difference between 378 and 460 to get my work stuff in, simple as that - so it was out of the question. Very stupid for fleet business, wouldn't have hurt the design at all to squeeze another six inches in the rear(!) and give us a booty the same size as everyone else, would it? It would probably have looked better as the rump is oddly out of proportion to the nose anyway! you listening Lex eh? get it right next time you muppets.

Not 100% sure, but I would guess we are the only country in the world that has such ridiculous rules for fleet vehicles.  Besides, according to the rumours, the new Toyota Avensis is supposed to be more Lexus like, and I'm sure that will be on your fleet list.

Rules? maybe.. but more a case of taking my essential gear out of the boot of my Volvo S60 and trying to get it in the IS's boot and still having 40% left on the showroom floor when full.

Avensis is often maligned but many people at my wife's company love them as due to their low cost and realistic residuals they could have a family size car for the same cost as the Corsa's on offer otherwise. But not for me, infact I have gone right off saloons lately. Sod the planet I am going SUV next time.

Lexus is a fantastic brand I think people really need to look at them a little closer rather then dismissing them without really giving them a chance. I tell you what ask yourself what makes a luxury car? Look at the quality of materials used on lexus compared to mercs and beemers. The fit and finish is so much better on lexus. Look at the really good quality leather used in Lexus cars compared to the crackled ones in mercs and beemers. Look at the gadgets which are better in a lexus and actually work alot better. Not to mention the astonishing sound system and sat nav. I think Beemers are boring and dull with that horrid orange interior dial illumination. Lets not mention how unreliable mercs and beemers truly are. Lexus only exists because Merc lost there way after the 80s and quality went down the drain. Granted Merc & BM have the automatic recognition brand wise. Lexus have the technology to outclass any manufacture.

Usually yes, but not when someone mentions the letters ISF, that's an awesome bit of kit. Judging by the photo the new convertible looks really cool, certainly much better than the 3 series convertible.
