Can't understand why they didn't fit the new 2.0TFSI engine thats already in the A5 and is heading for the new Golf GTI. More power and greatly improved emissions and economy. I for one won't buy one until its fitted.

With the 170bhp 1.4TSi engine and something in the region of a £1500 discount it would eliminate all opposition, assuming the TSi's strong performance in the Golf is replicated in the Scirocco. Having run a couple of Golf GT's, the interior does look very bland to me, but it wouldn't put me off buying one.

Entirely agree. Seeing what the 211hp variable valve engine does to the A4 and A5 and taking into account their weight relative to the scirocco, it would drop the 0-60 by well over half a second and improve economy by over 15-20%. As the Golf MK VI GTI is to have this engine, the Scirocco in its present guise might not seem such a no brainer. Come on VW - be sensible and shove it in.

A VW that is cheaper in the UK than it is in its native Germany (considering like for like equipment)

The valvelift engine will come later (but think years rather than months - The TT is going to get it first)

Christ this car is fugly.  What is wrong with designers today, they do still employ designers don't they?  What a fat, ugly blob.

Very good design, manages to be both sexy and elegant.

Thank you!  Was starting to think I was the only one.

I so want to like this product, but I can't.  Please do better VW.

    It's all about the twisties....

I wouldn't go as far to say it was fugly, however I think that the GTi is a much better design, and I don't think the Scirocco will age that well...

Alex - The Impreza has gone. Long live the Fiesta!

Can't decide on the looks. Quite like the nose, but the rest of the body is too bog standard hot hatch, rather than lithe coupe, for my liking.

And why on earth could they not make the interior at least a bit different to the Golf's??

I still think this looks like a copy of a Volvo C30, only not as well resolved.  It does look a lot better in white though that the blue example in the photos.

What a horribly bland, boring interior... where is the imagination?!?!?
