  • Porsche Panamera interior spotted

    Aug 11, 2008 1:50 PM

These latest spy shots of the four-door Porsche Panamera are the best yet, revealing in clearer detail than ever the grand tourer’s sleek shape and, for the first time, its plush new interior.

This Panamera’s well-appointed tan leather cabin is clearly visible in our photographs. It’s dominated by a wide and high-set centre console, which should deliver a wrap-around, cosseting sensation that befits a continent-bashing GT.

I'm still very undecided about this car.  With some of the rumors published about pricing and the various spy-shots I've seen, I'm not sure it stands much of a chance.  These interior shots don't really help.

What a great time to be launching an ugly expensive car.

Still look what the Cayenne did for them.

Sleek? Compared to what, a whale? Looks like a fat 911. Bet it weighs the earth too.

Just a simple question - why does every Porsche have to look like a 911 and, if this is so, why do they need to employ stylists?

Simple answer - when Porsche make cars that don't look like a 911 people don't buy them

Wil they be lifting the disguise off to reveal the real bodywork anytime soon, or are Porsche playing another cruel trick on us fans and buyers of Porsche sports cars?  I'm coming to the conclusion that the company should have 2 strings of showrooms a la BMW / Mini, then I won't have to bear the embarrassing associations when I wish to visit.  Equally, frustrated mums and dads won't have to deal with fractious children and their endless pleas to get one of the 'proper' ones.

I suppose the company line is that customers should be sensible and buy one of each!  (What credit crunch?).

Not true.  Have you forgot the Porsche 924/944/968?  Even the 928 didn't do badly.
