Fiat has just announced that its off-road Panda Cross is going on sale in the UK.

Based on the existing Panda 4x4, the Cross has more rugged styling and a higher ride height. It is already on sale in mainland Europe, but Fiat has just taken the decision to bring the diminutive off-roader to UK showrooms, where prices will start from £11,995.

    12k for a Panda!?

    You're having a laugh Fiat.

The 500's success has went to their heads.

Put the diesel engine in the standard 4 wheel drive version and sell for £9999.

    That looks competitive.

It's still £1000 cheaper than the Daihatsu Terios with petrol engine and £205 road tax per year.

Just announced??? One of these has sat on a display stand outside our Arnold Clark Fiat showroom in Dunfermline for the past couple of weeks! I thought it was a Panda 4x4 with a dealer fitted body kit! It is hideous!!!

I am 17, just passed my driving test and live in the remotest part of Devon over 7 miles away from the nearest mains electricity. The Fiat Panda Cross seems an excellent car as the insurance group will be low and it is good for my daily off-roading needs.

Does anyone know when this car is going on sale as i urgently need to buy a car??

ed747 - the Panda Cross is supposedly on sale now, I think. Sounds like the ideal car for you! Looks kinda cool too.
