How incredibly tragic.
I grew up through the late 1960's and early 1970's and as a young boy, always admired the amazing designs out of Pininfarina's studios, some of the concepts they designed were brilliantly turned into beloved Matchbox cars which enabled my imagination to fantasise what it would be like to own such cars in the real world.
It was these cars that evoked such a passion for cars that has only ever grown as i've got older, happily turning me into the avid Petrolhead I so proudly am today.
Recently I read with horror that Pininfarina was in dire trouble financially, only to read that the company was to be saved by a number of key industry figures, ensuring that this legendary institution would continue for years to come.
I hope that the company continues the legacy of Andrea Pininfarina and offer my sincerest condolences to his family and friends, he will be sorely missed.
