What is it?

Essentially it’s a clubsport version of the already rather fabulous Gallardo. Which means, in theory, it’s one of the more focused supercars the world has ever seen.

Lamborghini’s brief for the Superlegerra was initially pretty straightforward; to make a Gallardo that would weigh exactly 100kg less than the standard car, and in the process create a machine to make the Ferrari F430 and Porsche 911 Turbo look decidedly second-rate.

It's worth buying for the name. How is it that Italians come up with some of the most evocative names in the car world.

Lets face it they would never have named a car charisma then designed it to look the the Mitsubishi version.

It is better than the LP560-4 as it is more involving for the driver. The Gallardo was never a particular favourite car of mine, until the Superleggera came along in 2007.

To be honest I think they ruined the range by bringing along the LP560-4, it just is no where near exciting.
