  • VW unveils electric Golf

    Volkswagen has revealed an all-electric version of the VW Golf. This isn’t a production car, but VW admits its an important step on the way to developing a fully dedicated electric car.

    Unveiled by VW CEO Martin Winterkorn and Germany’s environment minister Sigmar Gabriel, the new Volkswagen Golf uses a small internal combustion engine to keep the battery charged; the same principle as GM’s eFlex system.      Now seriously, what good is that?

     If even a concept car has such a limited range, what can we expect from the future offering of Renault-Better Place?

    Not very promising, mind you...

    It's a series hybrid rather than a pure electric car. Perhaps a bit misleading to title the article 'the electric golf'.

    Why don't they just call it the Jolt or the Bolt, hell if your going to swipe a design you might as well go all out.

    No, I am not, I am saying it is a direct rip of the eFlex system.
