  • Vauxhall Insignia VXR spotted

With just a month to go before the Vauxhall Insignia makes its debut at the London motor show, we’ve got exclusive pictures of the hardcore Insignia VXR testing at the Nurburgring.
Well-informed sources reveal that this black fastback mule version of the Vectra-replacing saloon has four-wheel-drive and a more powerful version of the 2.8-litre turbo V6 from the current VXR. We’re expecting it to deliver around 300bhp.

Not about VXR, this message. However, regarding the Insignia and the very disappointing photos you published a few weeks ago of the hatchback in white, these new ones go to prove it looks much better dark. I saw a saloon in The Strand yesterday in either black or very dark blue and it was surprisingly handsome.

I agree this car seems to look much better in dark colours. Reminds me of the Jaguar XF actually. Cant wait to see one in the metal!

Err..... Its' an Opel being tested, isn't it? Nice to think that "British" Vauxhall are testing an up market model, but hey, it will be an import, again.

Opel and Vauxhall's models have been identical for some time. All that changes is the badge and which side the steering wheel is on.

Actually Vauxhall still make cars (and vans) here in dear old Blighty - just not this one. The other big "British" manufacturer pulled out a while back.  With the economy in the state it is I think they deserve some credit for sticking with UK manufacturing.

This is (at least) the second Insignia thread you've replied too in order to tell everyone about your hatred of VX. Is there something you want to tell us? Were you sexually abused in the back of a Cavalier as a child by your scout leader, maybe?

And what's wrong with mass produced cars? What do you drive? I assume it's something hand-made just for you and a total one off?

If you don't like Vauxhalls, don't read about them!

Ooh hello. A personal attack. Nice when things get personal. There's just so much of a need for it, isn't there ? Run along and play with your Nova, Simon. The new edition of Max Power has just come out. I'm sure you can find some space for a sticker or plastic spoiler or three.

I suspect that a Nova is more James' sort of thing. Strikes me as an uninformed ignorant argumentative oik.

If you have a passionate dislike of Vauxhall simply don't read article. I personally think that the Insignia brings great design inside and out to the family market.

Another personal attack ! Good Lord. Simon and Marky - there is nothing to stop me stating an opinion on Vauxhalls. This is actually what forums are for. You clearly like them. I don't. Please, though, don't start getting personal on people because you don't like their opinions. That's just wrong. Take a bit of your own advice and ignore my opinion if you don't like it.

I'm sorry but I am with James on this.  I think the Insignia, particularly the VXR shown here is hideous.

Totally agree.  To tell people not to not to post if they don't agree with someone defeats the entire purpose of a forum.
