  • Audi S4 snapped undisguised

    Jun 19, 2008 12:49 PM

We’ve already spotted prototypes of the next-generation Audi S4 undergoing tests at the Nurburgring, but now first pictures of the finished production model have been snapped by our spies.
This new-generation Audi S4 will make its debut at the Paris motor show in October. Exterior changes seem slight and subtle compared with the standard A4, mostly based around more aggressive front and rear.

I've always though that the S4 was something of a 'sleeper' - none of them have really shouted about their performance looks-wise. Why they insist on those tacky silver/chrome mirrors I don't know.

Q car it was indeed. However, i think they NEED to differentiate the S and RS models because the S-Line package makes all the regular models look like the performance counterparts. Perhaps having chromed/silver mirrors is not the way to go, maybe having a mild flairing on the bonnet, or gills on the front bumper would be more appropriate additions. However, I am very pleased to see Audi is trying to loose some weight in its engineering. If the technology is present to make smaller and lighter high output engines then why not? This will surely aid handling, reduce emissions, and allow them to finally compete dynamically with the likes of BMW and Mercedes

How about leds underneath so it lights up the road as they go along? Maybe a 9" high chromed air intake on the bonnet and some flame graphics on the side too.

From the rear and 3/4 view it looks like a non-Bangel E46 BMW replacement. Not that that's a bad thing.

The A5 and E92 coupe are remarkably similar from the rear. Swap the badges over and one could pretty much be the other.

As an E92 co owner(?), I wish we'd gone for the A5. I know alot of people say there isn't much between them but the winner is exclusivity. I think for every A5 on the road there must be 1000 E92's.

The A5 also looks like a halo product, where the E92 still looks far too close to the Saloon.
