    General Motors has called time on the giant truck-based SUV after announcing plans to close four factories currently building SUVs and pick-ups, as well as putting the future of Hummer brand in doubt.
    There was also shock at Ford after its all-conquering F150 pick-up was outsold for the first time in a single month since October 1991. The Toyota Camry, Corolla, Camry and the Honda Civic overtook the erstwhile king of the US showrooms.

    Can't say I'm too surprised by this news. It has taken a long time for the American public to wake upto smaller, better built, better packaged, more refined, sweeter handling and environmentally friendly cars we are used to.

    You never know, they may even in 50 years time ban guns, thereby, going some way to stopping the 27,000 people killed each year due to their gun laws. And they say Al Quaieda and others have a problem with Americans. Strikes me Americans have more of a problem with Americans.

    Sorry.

    ps. I may have splet Al Quaieda incorrectly.
