Autocar:It’s been confirmed that the standard saloon will have a CTS-V derivative, powered by GM’s 6.2-litre V8 and offering 542bhp at the rear wheels.
What a joke! Since when is the power of cars nowadays measured at the rear wheels unless you're an aftermaket tuner, and that's the only way you can do it? This is power measured at the flywheel under normal testing procedures in a lab. In addition, the power is 550 hp, or 558 PS, but definitely not 542 hp. In order to get your information right all you had to do was consult cadillac.com where it is clearly stated that the CTS-V has 550 hp (est). BTW, it is an estimate because Cadillac is still waiting for the power to be certified by the SAE. Once it is, if the rating does remain 550 hp then it will be officially 550 hp SAE Cerrtified.
