    wow, 227bhp for the GTI, it's going to be even more difficult to justify the extra cash for an R32, do you guys have any clue whether the R36 Golf is on its way as rumoured on the net ?

    From what I understand VW have effectively cancelled any further development work on their current V6(VR6) petrol engine series due to their inherent thirstiness, and will be replaced shortly by a 4 cyl. 2 litre TFSI engine producing 280PS and a five cyl. 2.5 litre turbo(TFSI?) producing 320PS and 450Nm.
