Surely this is more like a transit minibus than an MPV like the galaxy or S-max? 

If it has CO2 emmission of under 225g/km and has auto, leather, SAT Nav, DVD, I buy one over the new Grand Voyager.  I have 55 plate Grand Voyager, but cannot understand why a new one has higher emmissions when everybody is reducing theirs?  Given the value and reliabilty and warranty assosiated with Hyundai, this should be a winner if a fully loaded spec sells for £22k.

Having recently been requested to look for a "Full" size MPV by my wife's boss, these is definitely a market for a car like this in the UK. 

He requested that I find a suitable vehicle to haul six people and a large dog around in.  At the moment the UK seems to be limited to either the Grand Espace or Grand Voyager if you want something vaguely "regular" car like and the likes of VW Caravelle if you want something more commercial based.  Which ever way, you are still looking at a bill the wrong side of £25000 if you want to get something new.

Yes it does look a little commerical in its execution, but for those wanting to move people in relative "family style" comfort, then this looks to be bang on.

Oh, and before anyone comments, I know there is one other option - but it is far to hideous to mention!

Not denying it will probably depreciate like a stone, but there is a market for automotive white goods and this fills that purpose perfectly.  Imagine it as a Tesco's value MPV. 

It may depreciate like a stone, but so does a Grand Voyager, I paid £28K in July 2005 and now they are offering me £11k after 2.75 years and 40k miles for a new Voyager. I rather pay £22k and get £9k back after 3 years.  All cars depreciate like a stone no matter what car.  At least it is cheap enough to easily sell on.

If memory serves me right, any vehicle with eight seats or more can be registered with TfL and is exempt from the Congestion Charge; this also applies to old Land Rover LWB Station Wagons, which have nine seats (five adults and four circus dwarves in the boot, admittedly...)

Anything that offers an alternative to the Grand Voyager has got to be good - don't know why the British press keep comparing the G Voyager to a Galaxy - a Galaxy is surely closer in size to a Zafira than a G Voyager. (and we owned a Zafira for 5yrs before our GV!) We own a G Voyager and a Hyundai Tucson - if I had to choose between the two I'd say the Tucson is the better finished! Throw in the 5 yrs warranty and 5yrs free servicing...

G Voyager has had the market to itself for too long - only alternatives are VW and Mercedes vans! We were planning to change our 3yr old G Voyager for the new model next year - but having seen how they've increased the emissions AND skimped on the conversion to right hand drive (no passenger dash storage bin, auto shifter between the front seats instead of on the dash - losing the cupholders) we went out and took advantage of a large discount on the outgoing model. This gives us another 3 yrs for someone to come up with a decent alternative!
