This is the latest concept from muscle car maker Saleen, unveiled today at the New York motor show.
Called the S5S Raptor, the mid-engined two-seater is tentatively slated for production in 2010. It is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine (capable of running on E85 ethanol) that is said to produce 650bhp. Saleen claims that the real-wheel-drive Raptor is capable of 0-60mph in 3.2sec and a top speed in excess of 200mph.

Nice looking thing and the £95,000 price tag with a 550bhp engine certainly makes you take notice as it's a stunning bargain if they can produce it in 2010. I remember drooling over the Vector Twin Turbo but that never got off the ground. Saleen I think may be more 'reliable' at holding their production promises however so I look forward to some road test reports sometime next year. Sure does make the new McLaren look overpriced and outclassed... on paper anyways!
