    What is it?

You don’t need that question answering, do you? Because alongside Land Rover, the Mini and the 2CV the Corvette is that rare thing, a car brand that most people have heard of. It’s just that most people outside of the US don’t buy them, despite the fact that they are very cheap and very fast. But they’re not perfect, so this 2008 model year car sets out to sort some of the issues.

    Autocar:
If you’re unbothered by the way the cabin looks, don’t mind the occasional blunt moment from the gearshift and can accept fact that this car is never going to be quite as deft as a 911, there’s no real reason why you wouldn’t want one.

You mean aside from the fact that it's only available as left-hand drive, has no dealer network and costs one and a half times the US sticker price?

Are these really just minor irritations or are they the main reasons NOBODY buys this car here? Strange omissions from an otherwise enjoyable read.

(Supposedly the Dutch company who import and sell Corvettes in Europe reckon the UK could be the biggest market for the car if it were available in right-hand drive form. But it isn't, and it probably won't ever be. Shame.)

Alot of car for the money. Only £10k more than a Boxster and £20k less than a 911 with performance to hammer them both so should sell bucket-loads! Except for the above points ThwartedEfforts makes. And it looks naff in yellow.

If we want an unreliable fibre glass sports car with a dodgy cabin and tiny dealer network, we should all be patriotic and buy a Europa.

    Only kidding, Lotus fans!
