    What’s new?

An entry-level Cayman with the 2.7-litre engine from the Boxster, slighter wheels and brakes, one less gear and a price tag that's £7000 lighter.

But, apart from the wheels you’ll be hard pushed to distinguish it from the S model – look for black finishing to the nose, a one-piece exhaust and black brake calipers. This is our first taste of it on UK roads.

    What’s it like?

There’s no denying it’s markedly slower, but does this matter? That de...Read the full article

    I agree with Joyno.

Why do people spend money on a Cayman when a Boxster with a soft top is cheaper and basically exactly the same car ?

    Cayman looks better.  IMHO.

Plus not all people like the idea of a soft top, but still want an affordable new Porsche.

    Bring it!!

hi, i was wondering if you can help me. I'm thinking buying a porsche cayman. I've spec'd mine up and it'll cost me around 43K. I have about an 8K deposit for it but I'm not sure if i can afford one actually. I'm not sure what the on going costs will be. I have 2K per month left over (after paying my monthly mortgage , and my personal expenses per month is about 500. So i have 1500 per month left over. I still want to have atleast £900 pm of savings (i think this is an average per month savings right?). Can i afford to buy one? What is the average salary of a porsche cayman owner? Is earning 75k+ good enough?

i calculated my monthly cost for the porsche will be around £780 pm.  My savings will then be around £600-700 pm.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

     many thanks.

Nice job Porsche, now drop the fat arsed 911 and make even more powerful top of the line AWD and turbo models and your set.

Go and talk to your dealer. They will soon tell you what it costs and if that is too much then you can shop around for your finance.

    Hi,

Had a few Porsche in my time, the first few paying cash, with the dealers wondering why I would tie all my money up in a car. The last two cars being 911 and then a Cayman s.

The deals the porsche dealership will give you will be second to none. The 911 was 50% deposit with monthlys of £230 and the other 50% at the end of 3 years, the same with the Cayman s. Because there cars hold there value so well no other company will give you such a good deal, I would keep away from finance houses and such like and stick with Porsche.
