The talented boffins have done it again ... wasted their talents on something as pointless as this car. For the price they are asking you could buy a decent sports car/saloon and a diesel estate. Shoot the marketing execs that came up with this 0 to IKEA in 4.6 seconds idea. No doubt there will be an even more pointless "hot" version from one of the Swiss or German tuning houses in the near future ... sigh.

I take Chris Harris's point about RS6's more usable engine/gearbox combo than the M5 touring, but he didn't say much in terms of their comparative ride/handling/steering capabilities.

I suspect in day to day motoring the power difference between the two cars will have minimal effect and it is the M5 that is the more enjoyable drive. That's the car I'd car for anyway and save myself 10 grand into the bargain.
