These are the first pictures of the forthcoming Audi S8, spied during winter testing.

Little is known about the S8, the performance version of Audi’s new A8 executive saloon, but power is likely to come from a turbocharged V8 engine rather than the Lamborghini-sourced V10 of the outgoing model.

looks better with xenon headlight 'eyes' and in black.

new A6 below due by end of year looks a cracker. Jag better wrap up warm - gonna be awfully frosty for the XJ and XF in winter 2011.

Not bad, but still leaning towards the Panamera...

just bought one of last a8 model in black and hadnt realised how similar the new one looks. its my second new a8 and ive got no regrets for not waiting for the new model especially as i got nearly 25% off ! the spec is way better than 7 series or S class and the killer is the big smile it gives as you as you glide by those two struggling models when theres any hint of snow on the ground !

Thx for the extra pics, wonder how quick the S8 will be, im guessing it might do 0-60 in 4.6.( id hope 4.4, but maybe thats asking too much lol) would be classy if it can do it quicker than an S65 amg though

Still not convinced by the A4 A8 but the A6 from the rear looks an interesting beast. Anyone know if it'll come with MagnaRide?

Agree entirely - love my current A8.

 personally like the audi s4 turbo model much better. didn't see many a8 on the roads for a long time.

 the audi s8 really looks beautiful out there. currently have an audi a4 turbo and it is a real beauty to see it in the driveway.
