Not so new "Idea of the Year" award
"The most poignant award was Autocar’s Idea
of the Year, which went to the McRae Enduro, a “supercar for the
desert” to which the McRae family of rally champions – including 1995
WRC title winner Colin, recently tragically killed in a helicopter
accident – have lent their name. This super-tough, diesel-powered racer
aims to cater for teams and private entrants in extreme events like the
Dakar Rally. One day the McRae Enduro will be a road car too, the
outfit has just confirmed."
errrrr, hang on a second what has Bowler Off Road being doing for the past 7 years. In the 2008 Dakar Rally Bowler (based in Derbyshire, UK) had over 30 vehicles entered, including a team of customer supported vehicles. In fact Bowler is at its second generation of this type of vehicle, after massive success with the Wildcat, the Nemesis is currently taking up the challenge.
Nice to see Autocar doing its research. try this; www.bowler-offroad.com
