  • Hot new Mini Clubman spied

    Feb 08, 2010 11:59 AM

The entire Mini range will be facelifted in August, and these spy pictures give the first look at how the Mini Clubman S will look.

The styling changes are designed to give the car a sportier look, and take some of the design cues set by the upcoming Countryman S model.

    See the Mini spy pics

Reports suggest a hot diesel version of the car will also go on sale later this year. Read the full article

Doesnt look too different to me. And can you imagine the price of the mini with the 123d engine in it??
Has the most boring car ever created, but I'm enjoying bangernomics in a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GS in green!

The only way to make a clubman look hot is to set fire to it.

Is this really the facelifted version?

Apart from a bit of plastic stuck on the front bumper and possibly a slighly different rear light lens it looks identical to the current one.

150bhp diesel sounds nice, our Clubman Cooper D is fast enough, but a bit more power would be useful. A 200bhp diesel seems excessive though.

As for the styling, not much seems to have changed which is good, though why on earth they covered the badges on one of the most distinctive cars on sale today evades me.

Had a Cooper as a loan car, boy was i sad!, all that cash for a ho hum interior, indifferent steering, came to the conclusion that it's a fahion/ must be seen in car.

It was - 10 years ago, but there is newer competition on the catwalk these days.

I wish someone would tell me what that competition is - I'm looking to replace my MINI soon, but I'm struggling to find another vehicle of a similar size that has the same sort of character....(cue all the insults)

Traded in a BMW 320D for my current Mini Clubman D - both of them are great cars which have ideally suited my needs at the relevant time. Although I'm quite happy with the Mini's current diesel engine, the only thing I've always wanted from 320D was its diesel - if they put anything like that in it then that would be the icing on the cake!

I owned a 05 plate Cooper S and I loved it bar some reliability issues.

When it was time to look for a replacement I looked at the "newer" turbocharged models and just didn't like them. Interior looked like it had been designed by Stevie Wonder under the supervision of Ray Charles, the exterior exactly the same. I also didn't think it was as nice to driver as the previous models.

In the end I left Mini altogether and bought a Mondeo DIESEL. The newer Mini's have lost the "panache" they once had in my opinion.

I read the article with the thought that it sounded a great idea, a Mini with the 123d engine, and then I read this comment...........I'm feeling a bit depressed now because I fear that you are right: that's another good idea for a replacement car that has gone up in smoke.

Aww I'm sorry, didnt mean to depress you. But you know I'll be right. Look at the price of the petrol JCW, and them add, what 1500 to it? maybe more?
