  • Renault Wind revealed

    Feb 02, 2010 7:48 AM

This is the Renault Wind, a two-seat coupé-convertible that will go head to head with the Peugeot 207CC when UK sales start in June.

The Wind, which will be launched at the Geneva motor show next month, shares its platform and much of its front-end styling with the Twingo. Renault is keen to differentiate the two models, however, and will offer the Wind with its own unique interior featuring components borrowed from models higher up the Renault range.

This or a 207/308 crappy cabriolet?

It has to be this for me.

In profile this reminds me of the Midas kit car of the mid 80's. I like it, but remember this is a car built on the previous Clio platform and selling for £17k!!!

£12k and more basic would have worked for me, I couldn't choose this over a rear drive MX-5.

I drive a van, so I'm sure I could handle this! lol I like it, but as someone says, it would need to be very good to make me choose one over an MX5. Should ideally have been about 13k, or maybe even less
Has the most boring car ever created, but I'm enjoying bangernomics in a Toyota Corolla 1.6 GS in green!

Hairdressers aren't blind, though. It's hideous! Not for the first time in recent years I'm thinking it might be time to let M. Le Quement slip into retirement.

Not sure about the name. It could be awkward telling people you've got Wind.

Otherwise, it looks like a Twingo pick-up with touches of the Elise around the rear and a Ferrari roof.

As has been said before, surely the pricing is wrong. At 17K it is clearly too much. It should be less than both the 207 (which is bigger) and the MX5 (which is better). Infact without making another rear drive cabriolet i have no idea why anyone bothers to enter the affordable cabriolet market. For 20 years the MX5 has been the sensible, and the fun choice.

But even if this were 13k, i would still take an MGTF over this so i think it should be 11K to compete with the Fiat 500 (surely the 500 and the Twingo are natural competitors)

@ Autocar - "Renault is pitching the Wind as a sports model and not a sports car"

     Eh??

     Loving the over-the-shoulder visibility...

Don't talk to me about sophistication, I've been to Leeds!
