The striking livery of Ken Block’s new Ford Fiesta rally car has been revealed.

Block will compete in the Monster-backed car in the Rally America Championship, which starts in Michigan on 29 January, and the 2010 X Games.

Looks really cool, but why the 5 door version? The seats are further back, so surely the longer doors on the 3dr model would be better for safety/access etc.

I think it's for better weight distribution and the five door shell will be stronger.

Normally a 3 door shell is stronger - having an extra aperture in the side of the structure weakens it (and restricts where you can stiffen it up).

I think it's the Championship regs - it has to be based on a car available for sale in the US - and the fiesta will be sold there as a four & five door only.
