The Detroit motor show halls were evacuated yesterday when an electrical fire broke out above the Audi stand.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, and no exhibits were damaged, but the show was shut for several hours while the fire brigade attended the scene, extinguished the fire and ensured it was safe.

They said the fire broke out above the Audi stand, perhaps it was the Hindenburg 2 coming in for a landing.

Anyone checked Obama for matches? Couldn't blame him if he was trying to get some of the billions of taxpayer dollars back by setting fire to what's left of the American car industry and claiming on the insurance?

Nah, scratch that, ridiculous idea. It was obviously Marchionne who was the arsonist, desperate to see the back of the Chrysler nightmare.

Nah, scratch all the arson theories, it was the obviously the poor citizens of Detroit trying to combat Global Warming by setting fire to the monstrosity that is the Cobo Center.

I hope the German engineers that worked on the stand lighting aren’t the same ones who design their electric cars.

In a related story they have changed the name of the Audi E-Tron, let me introduce the new Audi En Fuego.

Well - it was good ol' Detroit USA. Probably started by a faulty burger stall - or overheating popcorn machine - or the hotdog pan caught fire - discarded burger wrapper perhaps???
