  • Mini Countryman revealed

    Jan 19, 2010 4:44 PM

These are the first pictures of the Mini Countryman, which have leaked out just hours after the company began the build-up to car's launch with a teaser video.

Well placed sources have confirmed the images are genuine, although Mini has yet to officially confirm the veracity of the pictures.

The exterior photos show a Cooper S version of the Countryman carrying an 'All4' badge that denotes four-wheel drive. Inside, the layout remains faithful to the new Mini layout.

Looks awful, but then again I'm not their target audience (income a bit too low, too obsessed with getting practicality for my money and I don't own ray bahns (spelling?)). On the otherhand do you reckon they'll accept my wife part-ex for the rather nice lady in the first photo?

    Oh dear oh dear ...

It's sour-faced and ungainly - please don't use the MINI name for this mongrel - please call it a MAXI or Allegrow (play on words there - not a spelling mistake ;o) )

now I should be called 44 cars so far ... and 21 motorbikes !

It doesn't look remotely like a MINI. They should've kept it closer to the concept.
I've got an Aygo and a Meerkovonian meerkat :)

Truly hideous. I'm sure they'll sell ship loads.

It would look a lot better if they ditched the pram wheels and got a set of alloys on it.

I have to agree with others, I much prefer the esthetics of the model to the right of the car.

Looks ok. Like the extra practicality of it and the 4wd, but not the best pics. In white and black wheels just looks like somones stolen all the hubcaps or the drivers had to replace a 4 tyre blowout.Only test drove the last Mini and found it really claustraphobic inside. This kinda looks the same.Whoever chose the colour and trim on that car isn't doing it any favours at all.

Not sure the point of this car, is there really a market for B-Segment 'Supermini SUVs'?

The Yaris based Urban Cruiser hasn't exactly been a success has it?

Well I'm going to go against popular opinion above and say that I think this looks like a pretty handy car. 4 doors, a wheel in each corner and 4WD. I like the looks too. I bet it's going to be expensive though. Panda 4x4 instead and £10k in the bank? Hmm, dunno.
