    The next VW Beetle will use the same platform as the Jetta, unveiled at the Detroit motor show.

    The Beetle, which will go on sale next year, is not expected to be a radical departure from the current model.

    So no change then.
    Is the Jetta not based on Golf platform which also means a plethora of models available via VAG?

    The Jetta is based on the Golf.  But this is the Detroit show, where the Americans don't do hatchbacks, so they'll say it's based on the Jetta.

    What a stupid article. The Jetta is based on the Golf platform, so its the same bloody thing.
