Audi claims the forthcoming A7 will have interior quality “equal to the A8’s” when it goes on sale late next year following an autumn show debut.

The A7 will compete with the BMW 5-series GT and Mercedes-Benz CLS, and is Audi’s attempt to ‘premiumise’ the concept of a hatchback. Five-doors are traditionally the preserve of mainstream cars in Germany, so Audi is attempting to add value by giving its Sportback cars a coupé-like profile.

I love the design of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, in general I won't buy a Mercedes because I am an Audi fan, however the design of the A7 looks stunning and I am likely to own one given the opportunity and cash.

I think Audi can still do something with the rear of the car. Although I know it is not the final design to be released for production.
