I've been an avid fan for 30 years and the Schumacher years were the least enjoyable.
The racing was not that good and there was no one, except Mika Häkkinen and laterly Fernando Alonso who consistantly got near him. Damon Hill in the Williams did well to string his championship together, by graft and a good car, rather than the nateral talent of MS. JV fell in to a good car and then a bad one.
Schumacher's excessive and dubious tactics were not necessary and unbecoming of his talent and stature.
The racing since Schumacher's retirement has been cleaner and better.
I think he needs F1 more than F1 needs him.
(Or should I say Ross Brawn needs him)
