These prices seem to be a massive premium over the entry level 2.0Tfsi model which with a simple remap will produce 350 nm (258 ib/ft) which is exactly the same as the new TT S. I had my new TT 2.0 Tfsi remapped recently and it was the best eur 400 I've ever spent on a car.
The only thing that would make me want the 2.0 TT S over the regular 2.0 TT is the 4wd which is not the quattro system but a more conventional cheaper 4 motion system necessitated by the TT's engine layout which cannot accommodate the quattro drivetrain.
I agree that the TT RS will have to be very special to tempt buyres away form BMW and Porsche but all the ingredients are there and just remember what a great job Quattro GMBH did on the RS4. All things being equal I would buy a TT RS over the Porsche Cayman and BMW Z4M as it will be so much better looking than either of those two awkwardly styled cars and have the all weather grip afforded by AWD which given our none too sunny climate offers the best balance between fun, grip and safety.
