Just ordered one of these to replace my old 3.2 DSG. Anyone suggesting that a base Cayman would be preferable to the TTS is, in my opinion, missing the point. The TT ( in coupe form ) is a fast, comfortable and practical car.
It has a decent boot, you can get passengers in the back if you have to (for a short journey) but most of all, like all Audi's the cabin is a

This is the most potent version of the TT yet, its substantially reworked 2.0-litre turbo generating 268bhp, 21bhp more than the 3.2 V6, whose Quattro four-wheel drive system it shares.
That makes the TTS good for a sprint to 62mph in 5.4sec, which you can shave to 5.2sec if you order the car with Audi’s £1400 S Tronic double clutch paddle shift. Both versions also reined in to 155mph.

A car that combines this level of performance with exceptional fuel consumption and also happens to be great looking is to be applauded. I average around 30mpg with my 3.2 and I'm expecting considerably more with the TTS.
To get a Cayman with anything like the specification of a TTS would cost well north of 40K. My TTS with S-Tronic, Bose sound system, cruise control, metallic paint and 19" wheels is about 37K.
It's a bargain, really, especially with the expected residuals
