I think any forum is what you make of it. The old forum hadn't accepted new members for years and it's not surprising it got a bit 'comfortable' for those that remained. Give this place time and it will be just the same. I am sure it will, Figi.

Hi Alex. I like having new members on this site (well, there's the odd rotten one that slips through the bars). It's great to have new people on this forum, and I don't want you to think that me disliking the new site is anything personal. Far from it. I just preferred the old site. The layout was much better and it was much easier to navigate around. It had its downsides, but nowhere near as many as this site does.

Ah, fair enough. Yes, the navigation is a bit quirky. I'm sure they'll fix that if they do anything though. I think they should also throw a few articles in here to buck it up. Hey ho. It's only a forum.

I disagree. 'User pays' is a very strong driver for change, so Autocar needs to be supported in giving us something for free and changing it. They won't let us down but they need to be supported in making those free changes rather than panned for change per se. Sometimes you need to upset the apple cart rather than bitch about being the type of cat who won't drink sour milk.

Luddites!!

As well as those who troll for trouble on the basis of having a high post count, you left that out so I've corrected it for you! Don't thank me though!

I wasn't going to. Your post made no sense in the context in which you used it. I was talking about the drawbacks of the new site.

It's the trolling which will keep me away, not the new site layout. I can't stand it, particularly the cowardly school bully attitude you get from some of them.

Yes we can spot them, but there's no report abuse button anymore and to challenge them within the forum is a banning offence in itself.

I pointed out its free, and that folks should use it, get used to it and love it and I'm trolling?

Did I address you, or mention you (I wasn't even thinking of you) when I mentioned trolls?

Another poster has been targeting a member on here, implying a previous ban and using christian names. That is the behaviour I find deplorable.

My argument with you, is that you say I can't criticise the web site because it's free. Why then can you criticise my criticism, which is also free?

Exactly. You can't pick and choose which free things you can and cannot complain about.

Good, glad to hear it, you say what you like whether its dribble or otherwise, you don't need my approval Leslie, enjoy!

I think you've taken 2 plus 2 and come up with 6.

Leslie - I will use a christian name if the person is known to me from another website. That's none of your business. I haven't said he was banned from here but from Pistonheads. That's not against the rules. It would be if he was banned from here but that's not what I was saying, is it?
