Look at the following Left Lane News webpage for undisguised pictures of the new DBS replacement: http://www.leftlanenews.com/photos/aston-martin-vanquish-picture-1.html

It is unmistakably an Aston Martin and while (at last) it features its own unique styling, I feel that it still looks too similar to the DB9 family  with its proportions while looking a bit too fussy. I'm not convinced by the rear styling either, looking a tad too heavy and bulbous, and as for that rear wing, surely an integrated pop up item would have been better. Good to see a proper replacement for the previosu Vanquish though, but based on looks, the Ferrari F12 gets my nod.

The front still isn't sufficiently differentiated from the rest of the range for my liking, and that splitter...! Sick

Funnily enough I think the rear styling shows more promise and with a little imagination could easily (and successfully) depart from Aston's current design language.  If I didn't know better I'd say they were taking tips from Zagato.

It still wouldn't be my choice, either, but it's a start.

You either accept a Morgan as you accept the Himalayas or you go on to more splendid things, say, butterfly collecting.  A Morgan merely is and that should be enough.

Autocar photos show an awfully poorly fitting bootlid.

It can't be that difficult can it?

It doesn't bode well when they can't even get this one car right.

Should not have bothered?,the silly F1 style splitter?,almost an after thought, and anyway it's up side down!,the rear?...well known Asian spotscar?,no, this looks like a fifty year old been at the gym (i'm over 50, i'm allowed to say that, the Wife tells me),the interior?,well, that ibterior needs sunglasses!,no, for £193,000 i'd expect more from Aston, this is a 21st Century Bristol (car),a danger Aston should be aware of.

What does having a rear wing that looks like 'it was impossible to make' even mean. Just thinking about that statement makes my head hurt.

If it was impossible to make then it wouldn’t be on the car on the first place...

Maybe they were meaning the boot lid as judging from the one they made for the press photos that looks 'difficult' if not 'impossible' to manufacture...

Its also amusing that you can still play the time honoured tradition of guess the Ford and Volvo parts in the cabin.

Nice to see that they are still in a position to be able to bung on a few spoiler and splitter bits and yet also afford a new badge, although starting the name with a V saves on a bit of the tooling cost as they already use V on other derivatives.

Sadly I doubt we will ever see a NEW Aston Martin (as in not another reskin/restyle) before the firm lurches into its next financial crisis, although I hope I am proved wrong.

At the risk of causing a barney...  I don't really like it much.  It's not really bad, but take the Aston Grill shape away and it looks like a fancy Toyota - new Supra!?
