I have 5k to spend and would like a familiy car (preferably a 7 seater) im tired at looking so i thought i would come here! It has to be a manual and Black. My current car is a Mercedes-Benz a class and i would like somthing that does over 40 MPG and has a soft cluch like the merc. Im not a fan of MPVs and would prefer somthing Like a 4x4 (but im not too worried about that) the car will regulary carry 5 people.

EDIT: i want a big boot but i HATE estate cars.

How about an early Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento? Some are five-seaters, but most have seven seats.

Or if you want to stick with a Merc, you could get a Vaneo with seven seats or maybe even an E-Class estate (both available with diesel engines capable of well over 40mpg), which also has seven seats, although you said you don't like estates.

With a budget of £5k, you could even look at early Volvo XC90s. They are brilliant cars (they've got seven seats and they are very practical), although 40mpg might be a little optimistic even for the diesel.

Best of luck!

Another car to consider is the Mazda 5 (officially a 6+1 seater).

Not a 4x4 but big, practical, well-equiped, good fuel economy (in the diesels) and Mazda reliability.

Check out this site for great second hand car deals, search for a car model and it will compile any ads posted by real people online (compiles results from Gumtree, Twitter etc) - you can also see a list of honest reviews from people that have used or owned the car previously!

Only the l8er versions of the hyundai and kia are 7 seat, they start from around 7k ( i could get an older one but i can think of better 4x4s

The volvos are arould 7K aswell and are very rare in manual

BTW i hate my Mercedes-Benz

Good shout! The petrols cost less but are dirty, with a bit of searching and haggling i should find a diesel for a good price
