TVR unveiled a prototype Sagaris in December 2003, but it’s taken a year and a half and a change of chairman before the car has made it to production. In the intervening period, new boss Nikolai Smolenski has famously introduced durability testing and reliability schemes. He also revised the steering and suspension and changed the build procedures. Fundamentally, however, the car looks the same as the prototype and has the same engine created under ex-boss Peter Wheeler’s guidance. Read the full article

I drove one of these back in 2005. It was properly quick, and showed that Britain was still capable of making fast and enjoyable sportscars. Well, maybe not anymore.


The lack of ABS, traction control, and pretty much anything made it very light, and the acceleration was amazing. The straight six sounded fantastic, and I think that it was a last hoorah for the proper British sportscar.
