Just read the reveiw . I pretty much agree with it up to the last paragraph. I dont think it will sell well because man oh man its Plug Pug ugly and that will also hit residuals.
I wonder if the same team designed the interior as the exterior as I think the interior is really good but the exterior looks like a jelly mold reject coupling with a chip cutter.
If Peugeot are relying on this to pull em out of the brown and smelly then the design team need issuing with pegs for their noses as they will soon be up to their necks in it.
Shame really as I was hoping for something better than this.
This thing has been on sale in Germany for quite a while now, haven´t seen it on the road once. It´s better this way too, cause this thing is just plain ugly.
I've seen a few 3008's on the road already and I can say its looks have grown on me - it's not pretty, but it wasn't meant to be. Instead, it looks modern and tough. But the interior is one of the best in the business. It is a much better buying prospect than humdrum Golf or Focus.
It does look very stodgy, ungainly even. I haven't seen one on the road yet and if I was looking for a car like this I'd probably be much more attracted to a Skoda Yeti or Nissan Qashqai, especially given Peugeot's reputation for after-sales service. I don't think Peugeot are quite ready for a return to the good times just yet.
This seems very much like Pug's answer to the Koleos. However, unlike the tranquility of the Koleos interior design, this 3008 is a mess, looks like it was designed by 4 separate teams and then just chucked together their ideas before making it. How many times do Peugeot have to redefine their interior architecture?
Just had another look at this namely the data diagram. If that is accurate then it has a seriously high waistline. If you dont beleive me have a look yourselves. Scary !
I've seen quite a few in London recently, and I like it. People fawn all over the Kashkai which I find bland and forgettable, whereas the 3008 at least has some personality. The sheep will find that threatening and continue to queue up to buy VW's.
What pi**es me off is that after a seemingly excellent review Autocar gives a vague 3.5 stars. Weak.
I've just been on their web site to double check whether Peugeot actually made any car that wasn't visually challenged. They don't although the forthcoming 5008 at least looks competent. Funnily enough, the web site is perhaps a good indication of what is going wrong there - strangely low rent, overbusy and difficult to work.
I first saw one in the flesh at this years Royal Highland Show, and have to admit that it looks a bit better in the flesh than it does in photos. I'm beginning to warm to its looks, and the interior/dashboard is first rate - pretty and cosseting. Despite Autocar stating that it has a cavernous boot I think it's smaller than the boot in my Megane estate, and that would probably rule it out for me.

Challenging looks
Haha! That's like saying that John Merrick wouldn't be your first choice for a date.
