Apparently McLaren are having a crisis meeting today. Jenson doesn't even think they are the 5th fastest on the grid at them moment.

Item 1 on the agenda should read: Why has our performance nose dived while Williams is on the up since Sam Michael swapped teams?

It's always amazed me how this massive, multi-million pound sport's fortunes can turn on the abilities of a single individual, which seems to have happened time and time again over the years. Proves that, no matter how much money you throw at a problem, it's raw talent that really counts.

You know, I do believe that is a 'pec'...

I don't think it is the presence of Sam Michael in isolation that has caused the reversal in fortune at McLaren, and I think there is little doubt that it is so...their standings, until last weekend were somewhat flatered by the musical chairs of the results thusfar.

I just think things have gone stale.  It could be that with the right amount of restructuring Sam Michael will be the ace in the pack that gets them back to championship winning ways, but until they really look long and hard at the whole outfit, including drivers, then no amount of mid-season crisis meetings will solve things for them.

If I knew what I was getting into, I wouldn't have done it...and I would have been wrong.

And Lewis must be a bit worried now that Webber has resigned for Red Bull. He might have a slow car next year too.

I would expect both Lewis and Jenson to be a bit jumpy at the moment.

Lewis will see his contract value going down as viable championship options for next season dry up. And another couple of shabby performances from Button will surely see McLaren questioning whether he could/should be replaced. Don't call me Shirely.

It can't really be the loss of a single individual that has caused this slump, can it?! Everybody harps on about McLaren being one of the best teams at developing the car mid-season, it certainly doesn't look that way at the moment.

Perhaps it's time for Flavio to come back.... I'm sure a few quid thrown at Bernie will see his ban lifted.

If McLaren are having a 'crisis meeting', what on Earth do they call the meetings they have a Mercedes; "Armageddon now"? Unless it's just media hyperbole (perish the thought).

There was no crisis meeting. There was a meeting about the colour scheme in one of the boardrooms I'm told.
