Indeed it was for both prior to the qualifying, and suddenly JB's car is a totaL DOG WITH WILD UNDERSTEER - they improved it a bit but not enough to make Q3 - he will have work to do. LH has done his "thing" which he is clearly better than anyone else this season at doing. Sticking it in P1. But what about P2...total shocker to everyone else. Like having a 2CV fly past your nice motor when you though it couldnt happen!! Well done Pastor, made the wheelchair bareable for Frank, but your over rated team mate blew it once again. Slonso manages to wring the neck of that Ferrari and get results - baring accidents - he could well be standing on the top of the podium tomorrow evening. Err Massa - sory lad, but collect your P45 tomorrow evening theres a good chap. Kimi and Seb piddled on the better known RB team and that could mean some fireworks up front on the first couple of laps. After that it will probably be boring with only the tyre changes making the difference.
McLaren's Nose job seems to be working. Race runs on heavy load show a Sunday advantage, with Lotus very close in tow. Ferrari looks to have made tangible gains (P1), but Alonso (P2) was wrestling the steering wheel just to keep the dog on path. Merc and RB are also up there on long run times, having balance issues too.
The real news is that we will only be getting the Belgian GP for fabulous Spa, once every 2 years. Tragic
A reflection of everything that is wrong with F1 management. It's like a nightclub for the super rich. It dosen't matter how ugly, boring or badly dressed you are, as long as you can pay the price on the door, the bouncer is gonna let you in....
The seven times world champion has said the characteristics of the tyres had forced drivers to be more strategic and manage the rubber rather than being able to race flat out every lap.
Meanwhile his big boss - Ross Brawn will miss the event after being hospitalised with little being said as to the cause. The guy never looked the epitomy of fitness and rude health, but whatever, I wish him a very speedy and full recovery.

I was still in short pants - well in those days those lasted into your erarly teens!, when I went to the ring with an uncle - brother of my old man. I seem to remember it was possible, standing in one position that you could see about 80% of the track! The scenery was also fabulous. Made the whole trip (in a Jowet Javelin would you believe) worth while. Stays as one of my best memories along with getting within spitting distance of Hawthorn and Moss at Goodwood.
The main problem with Circuit de Catalunya is that a lot of the pre-season testing is done there, and the teams are all very familiar with how to set the cars up for that circuit. Valencia is easily the most boring race of the year...
Yes I agree that it is terrible for the fans that Spa will be relegated to once every two years. But then when did Bernie ever care about the fans?? It's all for "The Show" and the dosh......
