One of the worst tracks - and I wish it wasnt on the menu. Very little overtaking opportunities. However, I think Pirelli have been called to the rescue on this by offering two very different sets of Rubber, and heaven knows who it might favour. I think I will go for Lotus and hopefully Kimi, but if the Frenchman can keep it on the island he aint no slouch. McLaren are getting a new nose job. It is higher than the existing but not a Step shonk. Seems they are pleased with the initial results of testing with it, but they will decide on the day - maybe the drivers might have a say in it as well. I expect the usual culprits - Vettle, LH and JB to be fighting it out with both Lotus for the front row.

not sure who was sniffing what at Williams in the Garage..

A celebration Cigar?

Williams garage was a packed party after the race. Damn lucky no one killed. There's been a flurry of fire and smoke incidents lately, Perez was treated for smoke inhalation last week.

Pirelli Tyres a baffling conundrum:

Can we please keep it at one thread per race... Thanks.

will be sniffing

not sure who was sniffing what at Williams in the Garage.. surely It wasnt Franks whhelchair spinning its wheels in delight. but hopefully no one hurt, but seems seven have been hospitalised (4 from Caterham team (next door) who went to the aid of the Williams guys. It broke out in the fuel dump area. Weird is not the word the springs to mind, and neither does careless. These things are not supposed to happen anymore and that was why they stopped refuelling cars during the races. I hope those involved have suffered little and will be fine. Fire is not a nice thing to happen or be involved with - thats said from bad experience.

On what is one of the most boring tracks we had quite a treat with this race with some good (and very bad (Schuey) over taking. And for a 70th Birthday present the verboast Frank Williams couldnt have wished for a better result. A great sensible drive from Pastor Maldondo always harried by Alonso (who must be wondering who is next team mate will be for next race?) and if we had three more laps then I think 2nd would have been comfortably Kimi's, but another podium and they will be on the top step this year. We have had five different winners in 5 different races so I am sure Kimi is checking what his lucky number will be. Meanwhile - Force India are clearly going backwards, maybe PdI will be offered a red car sooner rather than later?

Sorry, but i thought this merited it's own thread, and there's no plagiarism either, lol!

OH 5hit... back of the grid start even, now watch his body language.. wow

It'll be a hard one to swallow, but if he can clench his gluteus there's a chance we may see pure aggression through the field.

The same Sam Michael joins McLaren as Sporting Director and we have 4 races on the trot where pit crew/engineering mistakes have cost them dear. Coincidence?

Ron isn't a patient man. His OCD will be bouncing off the ceiling, sticky spittle rich in ground tooth powder will shower the shop floor. We'll know soon enough if your suspicion is valid.

On with The 2012 Pirelli F1 Tyre conservation challenge

LH will be sniffing HRT exhaust on the grid

So, Sam Michael leaves Williams, and they're suddenly having their best season for years. The same Sam Michael joins McLaren as Sporting Director and we have 4 races on the trot where pit crew/engineering mistakes have cost them dear. Coincidence?

Takes you back to the Canadian when the same driver/team got a repremand and a hefty fine. I think this time they will bump him 3 places or more and double the fine - because its cheating.

LH has done his "thing"

Ah Ha - so thats how he does it. abandon before returning on the inlap because he had 1.3lires of fuel and the rule book says you have to have a minimum of 1 litre AFTER the inlap. Technical Issue says the team for his stopping ! Yea right - the tech issue was he wouldnt retrn with more than 1 litre. Takes you back to the Canadian when the same driver/team got a repremand and a hefty fine. I think this time they will bump him 3 places or more and double the fine - because its cheating. That would give Williams their first pole since the year dot!

Indeed it was for both prior to the qualifying, and suddenly JB's car is a totaL DOG WITH WILD UNDERSTEER - they improved it a bit but not enough to make Q3 - he will have work to do.

Here's the thing which bugs me most - Tyre conservation expert JB can't switch on his tyres. Neither can smooth(ish) Webber. While tyre munchers such as LH and bruiser Maldonado fire up the self annihilating Pirelli's over one scintillating lap leaving a bare carcass for the race.

Then there's Q3 Apprehension Syndrome, the circuit is almost in silence. Drivers doing no more than asphalt caressing, leaving it all for the last seconds, thinking only about having enough tyres for the race. Viewers get as little action as possible so as not to upset tyre disintegration management philosophy.

For me this is fast turning into the 2012 Pirelli F1 Tyre conservation championship.
