Now the risk of redundancy is high, I thought I would pursue a new career as a taxi driver.
I would need to buy a car under 15 years old and it needs to have the following criteria:-
An ability to drive in third gear all day regardless of speed
The agility to change lanes at short notice and good bumpers to take the knocks which occur from time to time when I want to turn right using the inside lane of a roundabout etc.
A good radio/cassette player
A big windscreen to see out of
A decent steering wheel
A hook to hold a good pine tree shaped air freshener
A good CB radio so I can call in one of my colleagues when I have a prang to "witness" the accident and provide an impartial account
An anti-assault screen for the nightclub shift
The following features are not important:-
Insurance - Is this necessary? Petty beaucracy at the least.
MOT certificate - A good home office printer to print out copies when the car has to be inspected.
I don't want a London Taxi, but any other suggestions would be useful especially for those readers who have been made redundant from the City and have to trade in their Porsche 911 for a quality used practical vehicle.
