I know we used to have a forum topic about new stuff we had seen. I dont know where it is so, new forum, new thread.

Anyway whilst driving around Huddersfield yesterday i saw a peugeot 208. Looked great in a deep metallic blue. All the excess and flabbyness of the 207 has gone. I know the dash layout is controversial, but if people get on with it i expect they will sell very well as the outside looks great.

I also saw 2 new Beetles. I hadnt seen any before so to see 2 in one day was a surprise. The new roof line is better, but it still looks like a Beetle. I am sure it will still remain a relatively rare sight.

Is that not the point?

I think its a briliant car! Its pointless, but fantastic!

I agree, It good that VW can make a business case for it. These days cars are more and more simelar. The 5 door family hatch market is full of 'blobs' where really its only the badge that is different. This might not be the best drive or the most practical, but i suspect its something that makes owners feel good. And it doesnt look like anything else

I just saw a mp4-12c. It wasn't my first, but was the first black one I've seen. The only other was in orange. Thought it looked great in black.

Also got overtaken by a ford gt tonight, but not the sort clarkson used to own. It was on a 61 plate and looked meaty from the front but not so great from the back.

And finally what I presume was a face lifted C1. It was on a 12 plate and had ds3 style led lights. Thought I'd save the best til last.

As for the beetle, I like it and just shows to me how new car designs make the older versions seem very dated. Dare I say even the new one series is starting to look very nice to me BUT only in certain colours and specs...

I saw a new 208 abouta week ago and thought it looked good. Shame most of the reviews I've read haven't been more positive.

I saw a Bentley Mulsanne today for the first time in a while. Also last week I saw a VX220.

No firsts for a while though!

I saw a new shape Focus saloon. The hatch is growing on me (except the grill) but the back of the saloon is just wierd.

I saw a Dodge Journey for the first time yesterday. I now know why I haven't seen one before ;)

I've seen a few mp4's now. They seem to have replaced the Gallardo as the Canary Wharf must have. I've seen a black one too. It was on Prescot Street, near Tower Hill . He hit the rev limit in 1st gear and was a good way through 2nd as he blasted past the children who were leaving my daughters' school. Impressive maybe, but not in the least appropriate.

I'm on a bit of  a roll too Smile Just on my way to get a bottle of milk from the corner shop this eveningand I saw a Mercedes 190E AMG, followed shortly by a Honda Legend coupe, both firsts for me. Was the Mercedes ever imported into the UK? If itwas a UK market model  then it should be in a yet another new thread 'cars I didn't even know existed!'
